How to End Your e-Scooter Journey 🛴

Guide on how to lock your e-Scooter

Written by Scott

Ending your e-Scooter journey correctly is essential to avoid additional charges and ensure the scooter is available for the next rider.

Follow the steps below every time you finish your ride. 👇

Park in an Active Beryl Bay

Before ending your journey, make sure you've parked the e-Scooter in an active Beryl Bay.

📍 All active bays (where you can park our vehicles free of charge) are shown on the in-app map as rectangle symbols.

🅿️ While your journey is active, you'll also see 'P' symbols on the map to help you locate the nearest available parking bay.

⚠️ Always use the in-app map to find your nearest active bay. If a bay has been suspended or is temporarily unavailable, it will not appear on the map.

Lock the Scooter in the App

Once you've parked correctly:

📲 Open the Beryl app.

🔘 Tap 'End Journey' to remotely lock the e-Scooter.

🔔 Wait for the confirmation that the scooter has successfully locked.

Check Your Journey Has Ended

Before walking away:

✅ Check that your journey has ended in the app.

📱 Ensure you receive the end-of-ride confirmation screen.

Wait for Your Invoice

Once your journey has ended:

💳 Wait for your ride to be invoiced before leaving the scooter.

This confirms your hire has ended successfully.

⚠️ If You Experience Any Issues

If you have any problems ending your journey:

  • Do not leave the scooter.

  • Contact Customer Support immediately while you are still with the vehicle.

It is your responsibility to ensure your journey has ended successfully before leaving the e-Scooter.

Why This Is Important

If your journey isn't ended correctly:

  • 🚨 Your ride will remain active.

  • 💸 Additional riding charges may continue to accrue.

  • 🛴 The scooter will remain assigned to your account until the journey is ended.

  • ⚠️ You will also be liable for any charges or penalties associated with leaving the scooter unlocked or outside an active bay.

Taking a few extra seconds to confirm your ride has ended can help you avoid unnecessary charges and ensures the scooter is ready for the next rider. 💚
