☀️ Don’t Let an Unlocked Bike Ruin Your Summer Vibes

The sun is shining, the parks are packed, and the beer gardens are buzzing. It's great to see so many of you hopping on bikes to make the most of the warm weather. But there's one small thing that could catch you out if you're not careful — the unlocked charge.

🔒 Always Lock Up After Your Ride

When you finish your journey, make sure to lock the bike properly. If the bike is left stationary and unlocked, the trip will keep running. That means you could be charged for time when you're not even riding.

Recently, we’ve seen more people forget this step. With the heat and excitement of meeting friends in sunny spots, it’s easy to rush off and leave the bike unlocked.

🚫 Don’t Leave Bikes Unlocked and Idle

Our bikes are intended for active trips and must not be kept stationary and unlocked for extended periods. You must lock the bike when you're not actively riding or moving with it — even if you're sitting nearby.

Leaving a bike unlocked while seated at a cafe, pub, or park bench prevents others from using the service and reduces bike availability for everyone. If a bike is left stationary and unlocked for too long, an unlocked bike fee of £10 may apply, even if you're still present.

✅ To Avoid Charges

• Always lock the bike when not in active use
• Complete your trip if you plan to stop for more than the 15-minute pause allowance

Taking these steps helps keep the system fair, available, and easy to use for everyone.

🌳 Enjoy Summer Without the Extra Costs

Whether you're heading to a picnic, a pub garden or just soaking up the sun, remember to finish your ride and lock the bike. Ride smart, relax in the sun and keep your summer stress-free.

Happy cycling 🚲
