Looking for a smarter, more flexible way to ride with Beryl in Leeds? Our Riding Passes help you save money and ride your way, whether you're commuting, heading out for the day, or making quick trips. With passes starting from just 8p per minute, there’s an option to suit every rider.
🎟️ What Are Riding Passes?
Riding Passes are prepaid bundles of minutes that let you use e-bikes in Leeds at a discounted rate compared to Pay As You Ride pricing. Once you buy a pass, the minutes are added to your account and available to use immediately.
🎫 Available Riding Passes
Pass Type | Expiry | Included Minutes | Cost | Unlock Fee | Cost per Minute | Journey Limit |
Day Pass | 1 Day | 100 | £8 | Free | 8p | No cap |
Flexi Pass | 30 Days | 300 | £30 | Free | 10p | 30 minutes |
Tip: The Day Pass is ideal for longer trips or one-off days out. The Flexi Pass works best for frequent short journeys, such as commuting or running errands. You must end every journey in an active Beryl bay.
🕒 When Does My Pass Start?
Your pass activates at the moment of purchase. Depending on the pass, it will remain valid for either 24 hours or 30 days. To get the most out of your pass, we recommend buying it when you're ready to start riding.
⏱️ How Long Can I Ride?
Day Pass: You can use up to 100 minutes in total. There is no limit to the duration of individual journeys within that total.
Flexi Pass: Each journey is limited to 30 minutes. You can ride for longer, but extra time will be charged at the standard Pay As You Ride rate of 17p per minute.
🔋 What Happens If I Use All My Minutes?
If you use all your minutes before your pass expires:
Your pass will no longer be active.
You can buy a new pass at any time.
If you don't buy a new pass, your trips will be charged at the Pay As You Ride rate of £1 unlock plus 17p per minute.
⏸️ Pausing Your Journey
Need to make a quick stop during your ride? You can pause your journey up to 15 minutes at a time in the Beryl app to keep the vehicle reserved while you step away. However, it’s important to note that pausing still uses your minutes.
Time spent paused continues to count towards your included minutes.
Pass Type | Paused Time Usage |
Minute Bundle | Each minute paused will deduct from your remaining minute balance. |
Day Pass | Paused minutes are counted the same as active ride minutes. |
