🔋 What happens if I use up my minutes during a journey?

If your pass expires while you're riding:

  • Your bundle will no longer be active.

  • Any remaining time in your journey will be charged at our standard Pay As You Ride rates:

    • £1 unlock fee, plus 17p per minute

These charges will apply from the moment your bundle minutes run out.

🎟️ Riding Passes

Great value for regular riders. These passes include a fixed number of minutes and remain active for a set time period.

⏸️ Pausing Your Journey

Need to make a quick stop during your ride? You can pause your journey up to 15 minutes at a time in the Beryl app to keep the vehicle reserved while you step away. However, it’s important to note that pausing still charges per minute.

⚠️ Additional Charges

To help maintain service and ensure fairness for all users, certain additional fees may apply:

  • Out of Bay Fee: £10
Charged when a ride ends outside of a designated Beryl Bay.

  • Out of Zone Fee: £15
Applied if you finish your journey outside the marked service area (shown in red on the map).

  • Out of Zone Fee after 24 Hours: £80
If the vehicle is not returned to the operating zone within 24 hours, an additional fee will be applied.

  • Unlocked or Undocked Vehicle Fee: £10
Make sure both the front and rear locks are properly engaged at the end of your ride. If a vehicle is left unlocked, it may be vulnerable to theft or vandalism and will not be available to others. This fee applies in addition to your ride cost.

🔒 You can find guidance on how to lock your bike correctly in the app.
