Our Day Pass is designed to make it easy for you to take a bike out for a whole day of exploring, and includes the flexibility for you to cycle outside our service area as long as the bike is returned at the end of the day.
How much does the Day Pass cost?
The Day Pass costs £12 for 24 hours, and only includes the use of pedal bikes. In Watford and Hertsmere only a £16 Day Pass can be purchased that includes the use of e-bikes as well. There are no Day Passes that include the use of e-scooters.
The 24-hour period starts as soon as you purchase the pass, not when you unlock a bike, so please only purchase this once you're ready to ride.
No unlocking fees on the Day Pass
Once your Day Pass is active, you do not pay any fees for unlocking the bike.
You can lock and unlock a bike as many times as you like during the 24 hour period without incurring extra charges.
Out of bay and out of zone fees while the Day Pass is active
When your Day Pass is activated, you won't pay any additional out of bay or out of zone fees for the 24 hour period.
For example, your route for the day may take you outside the operating zone (marked on the map with a pink line). When you want to stop for a break or lunch, you can lock the bike during the break and unlock it again without being charged extra.
Even though you won't be charged the out of bay or out of zone fees while the Day Pass is active, please always park your bike considerately and make sure pavements aren't blocked for other users.
Charges at the end of the 24 hour Day Pass
At the end of the 24 hour period, please make sure your bike is returned to the Beryl operating zone, and parked and locked in a Beryl Bay. If your bike is not parked in a Beryl Bay at the end of the 24 hour period, you will be charged the standard out of bay fee.
If your bike is outside the operating zone at the end of the 24 hours, you'll be charged an initial out of zone fee. This will then rise to a penalty charge of £80 if the bike is not returned to the operating zone within the following 24 hours. Please check your app after you've locked your bike to make sure the journey has ended correctly and you're in the zone.
Please note
If you are taking frequent short journeys within a service area, a Minute Bundle may provide better value for riding.
