As part of their Covid Recovery Plan, Herefordshire Council are funding free weekend rides to help get back to the high street. All Beryl rides up to 60 minutes long ending in a Beryl Bay will automatically be free of charge on 9th-10th October and 16th-17th October 2021.
Read on for the details:
How do I access the free rides?
All users in Hereford will automatically be able to access the free rides. If you don't have an account yet, download the Beryl app and follow the simple steps to sign up. You'll need to add your card details to hire a bike, but you won't be charged for rides up to 60 minutes ending in a Beryl Bay.
Are all rides free?
All rides up to sixty minutes ending in a Beryl Bay will be free of charge during the the free weekends. The usual charges for locking the bike out of bay or outside the Beryl operating zone will apply.
Free rides will apply from 00:01 on Saturday 9th October to 23:59 on Sunday 10th October 2021, and again from 00:01 on Saturday 16th October to 23:59 on Sunday 107h October 2021.
What happens to if I have a Minute Bundle?
If you already have a minute bundle, the minutes will not be deducted from your account so you can keep them for later.
Can I ride for longer than 60 minutes?
Only the first 60 minutes of a ride are free. If your ride is longer than 60 minutes, you'll be charged our standard rate for the remainder of your ride (5p per minute on pedal bikes, or 10p per minute on e-bikes). You can take as many 60 minute rides as you like.
Do I need to have a payment card associated to my account?
You must have a valid payment card registered on your account in order to unlock a bike, even during the promotion. Our system will run a pre-authorisation check on your card when you attempt to unlock a bike and you must have at least £1 available on the card in order to pass this check. This is to ensure you have funds available for any out of bay or out of zone fees you may incur.
