In the UK, e-scooters are currently classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles and are treated as motor vehicles. To hire a Beryl e-scooter you must have a valid driving license.

Providing your License

Before you are able to hire a Beryl e-scooter, we require you to provide proof of your driving license. You will be asked to take a picture of both the front and back of your license in the app and upload it for verification.

You must be aged 18+ to ride a scooter with Beryl. Once your licence has been verified you will be able to hire a Beryl e-scooter.

Provisional licenses are accepted. If you have a paper license please get in touch with our customer support team for further details on how to submit your paper license.

Please note: If you do not have a valid driving license or your license has not passed the verification process, unfortunately, you will not be able to hire a Beryl e-scooter.
