Our electric assist cargo bikes offer a practical and eco-friendly way to carry heavier loads around town. Here’s everything you need to know to hire and ride them safely.

Where and When to Hire

  • Cargo bikes are available between 7 am and 9 pm.

  • You can find them at the Courtyard and Widemarsh Street bays.

  • Please return the cargo bike to these bays at the end of your journey.

Getting Started: Powering On and Lights

  • After powering on the bike, turn on the lights located next to the power button for added safety.

Riding Tips: Handling the Cargo Bike

  • Riding a cargo bike feels different from a regular bike. When starting off, pedal confidently and keep moving. Once in motion, you will notice the bike feels much more stable.

  • Adjust the gears by turning the rubber grip on the right handlebar. The transmission is continuous, so you won’t feel or hear distinct gear changes. The small orange figure on the right handlebar shows your current gear position.

  • To change the electric assist level, use the large arrow buttons on the left side of the HMI display.

  • Take shallow corners as the turning circle is larger than a regular bike.

  • Avoid significant bumps, especially when carrying a heavy load, to maintain control and protect the bike.

Battery Life and Range πŸ”‹

  • A full battery can assist you for approximately 45 km, but this depends on:

    • The weight of your cargo

    • The hills you encounter during your ride

Troubleshooting Assist Mode

  • If the electric assist seems off, check the assist mode indicator on the left side of the HMI display.

  • Use the large arrow buttons to adjust the assist level as needed.

  • Please note that the assist only supports speeds up to 15 mph. Beyond this, you will need to pedal without electric assistance.

Ride safely and enjoy the extra power to carry your cargo with ease!
