Where Can You Use Beryl E-Scooters? πŸ“

During Phase One of the trial, e-scooters are available exclusively in Birmingham and for students at the University of Warwick.

  • You can hire and park e-scooters in the permitted riding zone for Birmingham University of Warwick.

  • You cannot take an e-scooter from Birmingham and park it in the University of Warwick service area.

  • All active bays (where you can park our vehicles free of charge) can be seen on your map view, shown by the rectangle symbols.

E-scooters are available to hire 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Who Can Hire a Beryl E-Scooter? βœ…

To hire and ride a Beryl e-scooter in the UK, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Have a valid driving licence (provisional licences are accepted)

E-scooters in the UK are legally classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles and treated as motor vehicles. This means a driving licence is required to use them. We do not accept paper licences

Providing Your Driving Licence πŸ“Έ

Before you can hire a Beryl e-scooter, you must have your physical licence with you and complete the following steps:

  1. Upload a clear picture of both the front and back of your driving licence through the Beryl app

  2. Complete a selfie verification through the Beryl app

  3. Wait for your licence to be verified by our system

Once your licence has been verified, you will be able to hire an e-scooter.

  • If you do not have a valid driving licence or your licence does not pass verification, you will not be able to hire a Beryl e-scooter. ❌
